Well it's been a while since i did my last blog and since then I've been pretty busy..
We have had a pretty good run of waves up here and I've been trying to make the most of it ahead of the WQS events here at the start of the year. The first event we had was the Burleigh Breaka Pro - we had some fun waves - it was tricky Burleigh, not your typical Burleigh sand set up but still some fun waves..
I mananged to make a few heats there and finish up 17th overall which I was pretty ok about just because it might as well be a 6 star prime event the amount of big names that...

Well what a week for waves.. unfortunately it come with some sad news, with all the horrific floods in queensland. Over 3/4 of Queensland got flooded. Extremely sad. My thoughts go out to you all.
Only an hour south of this natural disaster the waves were firing. For three days straight I got to finally use my new ski and get out in some solid swell. It only really got to 6 foot but it was a clean ground swell. My local wave was going off, thick pits behind the rock and then running down the point. This is the first time I've also been able to try the Foilz out my local when its big...

Hey guys, just got back from a trip down the coast.

Got some super fun waves, started driving down with the ski a bit over a week ago, I decided I call into my mates place a few hours south to visit him for his 30th b day. I arrived there and we went and check the surf at the point, it was kind of pumping. 3 foot fun waves and barely anyone out. We surfed there for a while then came in for some food. We then decided to check this other wave for a quick afternoon surf before dark. It was hard to tell if it was good but when we got out there we found ourselves alone with just us 3...

So I'm off to Japan, pretty amped actually. Kind of last minute decision - had some frequent flyer points and there were spots available in the contest so I thought why not?
It was kind of a mission though. I flew out of Gold Coast to Tokyo direct, then I caught a bus for about 2 hours to Haneda airport. There I stayed overnight at the airport (not cheap) then I got up and caught a flight from there to Miyazaki airport, then a train for 2 hours to Hyugashi station. When I finally arrived my Japanese friend Shin picked me up. I only met Shin for the first time this trip he...

Just got some pumping waves and thought I'd do a quick update to let everyone know that they need to try out some Foilz in big barrels.
I had a feeling a certain wave not so far from home was going to be pumping about a week or so ago, so I told my mate and we headed off with the jetski to try our luck. After a bit of a drive in the car and another bit of a drive on the ski we arrived to perfect 6 foot barrels. Left and rights. We decided to do jump offs on the ski. (for those who don’t know what that is you catch the wave with the jetski at about the same speed as the wave and the...

The Basque country is beautiful, the place, the beaches, the women. The whole set up .We had a nice little place nestled up on a little hill just out of Zarautz. The comp went on hold again for the first few days of the event due to the same small conditions we've endured over the last month. But it turned on a little for the next few days. My first heat was run while it was quite small and onshore but had a pretty good heat and found some fun little runners. The next day the swell jacked clean fun 3 foot rights breaking into a deep gutter there was some really fun waves to be...

Well since my last blog it's been pretty eventful. In the beautiful Azores unfortunately the waves never came, in fact it got smaller and the competition was forced to be called off. Everyone still in the event got 4th place in the round of 96 and same place for the dollars.

It was a bummer because we spend all this money to get to these places and then it seems kinda pointless in the end when you don’t even really get given a chance to surf, but what can you do when the waves are flat?

The place there is so nice though, we went and checked out some of the scenery while we...

Well what a fun week last week in the states. California is pretty much my favourite place to travel in the world. Not so much for the waves just the place in general, especially when you add the u.s open to the mix it makes for a pretty entertaining week. Last week was definitely the craziest surf event I have ever seen. I’m gunna go ahead and say it’s the biggest event set up ever in the history of surfing. The thing was huge, grand stands the whole way along the beach, massive surf shops built just for the event, along with skate park motorcross and a band stage it was like...
